Modern Therapy Collective
The community for therapists in private practice. Because this job is better together. Connection, real talk, and support.
Ring any bells?
You built the practice you always wanted, you're doing meaningful work, and you should feel great about it.
And mostly, you do.
But there's also the Sunday evening dread before a full Monday. The client who cancelled, again, and the mortgage payment that didn't quite make it. The ethical dilemma you turned over for three days because there was nobody to ask. The email you wrote on holiday because you were too anxious not to.
You didn't leave employment to recreate the same pressure in a building you pay rent on.
You know burnout, you help clients recover from it, and quietly, you wonder if you're heading there yourself.
The hardest part isn't the clinical work. It's doing all of it completely on your own. The admin, the money worries, the isolation, the quiet "am I doing this right?" that nobody else hears.
Picture this…
What if you had a group of people who actually understood?
Not to vent to. Not just to network with. But who know. The ones you WhatsApp when you've had a week that's hard to explain to anyone who isn't in it, who celebrate when you finally put your prices up, who remind you why you started when you're this close to taking that salaried role back.
A place to mark the wins. The first full week of clients. The boundary you actually held. The price increase you'd been putting off for two years. The moments that deserve more than a quiet nod to yourself.
Imagine group supervision that feels like a relief rather than an obligation. Led by qualified supervisors, counting towards your hours, and worthwhile because everyone in the room knows exactly what your week has looked like.
Imagine CPD that reflects the reality of private practice rather than just ticking a box. Workshops on the stuff that actually keeps you up at night; burnout, boundaries, the business side, all of it. Led by people doing the same work as you.
Imagine the group chat you actually want to check.
That's what we're offering.
Here’s What We’re Building
Professional Development
CPD-certified bespoke workshops, and online group supervision led by qualified supervisors, all counting towards your supervision hours. The things training never covered and the ongoing support to keep you practising sustainably. Burnout, compassion fatigue, marketing your practice, legal, tax, and everything in between.
Connection
Real relationships with therapists who get it. Not a networking event you leave with a handful of business cards. An ongoing community between people doing the same thing you are.
Collaboration
Workshop swaps, referrals, room hire leads, expert-led sessions by members. A genuine collective where "I've got this, who can help?" is always the right thing to say.
Problem-Solving
Cancellations. Holiday cover. Ethical dilemmas. "Should I actually reply to this email?" Business headaches. The group chat you've always wanted but never had.
About Us
We're Lauren and Jenna, two therapists in private practice who met over ten years ago whilst studying, compared notes, and realised we'd been having the same conversations separately ever since.
Jenna is a BABCP- Accredited Therapist , Clinical Lead at Priory Hospital and a BPS Clinical Supervisor. Her specialism is working with PTSD, supporting people to process trauma and rebuild a sense of safety. But beyond the titles, she’s someone who deeply values real, honest human connection.
Lauren is a BACP-Accredited Psychotherapist and a BPS Clinical Supervisor specialising in burnout, anxiety, and people-pleasing. She runs a group practice in Ayrshire. There's a reason she ended up as the burnout therapist, she gets it.
We’re creating this space to move away from perfection and towards authenticity, where we can show up as we are, because meaningful change starts when we feel truly seen and understood.
Between us, we've navigated the full private practice experience. The good bits and the unglamorous bits. We built Modern Therapy Collective because we kept wishing it existed.
We're not here to teach you how to be a better therapist. You already are one. We're here because doing this job is better when you don't do it alone.

You'll love it here if...
You stop going it alone. You're a therapist in private practice (or seriously considering it) and tired of doing it in isolation, because you know the work is better when you're not trying to do it all alone.
You get CPD and supervision worth showing up for. Not another box to tick, but something that sends you back to your clients feeling more capable and confident.
You finally have a room where everyone gets it. Group supervision that counts towards your hours, and feels worthwhile because the other people understand what your caseload looks like.
You use the community. Not just join it and go quiet, but show up, contribute, and find the kind of connection that makes you better at your job and reminds you why you chose to be a therapist in private practice in the first place.
You build a practice that lasts. Because you care about a sustainable practice as much as you care about your clients, and you know that looking after yourself isn't separate from doing good work.
It's probably not your thing if...
You're looking for one-to-one clinical supervision. That's not what this is, though we both know how vital it is we’re offering something different.
You want a huge, anonymous online group. The supervision groups in MTC are intentionally small. You'll know the names and faces in the collective, that's the point.
We're not here to tell you how to run your practice. MTC isn't a step-by-step programme or a blueprint for doing it right. If that's what you're looking for, this probably isn't it.
You're looking for a passive experience. A library of content to consume alone without any connection to the people around it. That's not what we're building here.
You're happy facing it alone. If private practice feels completely sustainable and you're not craving connection or community, that's brilliant. However, this one probably isn't for you.
Ready to stop going it alone?
Come to the free intro event on 29th August and see what we're building. Spaces are limited to 12, register your interest and we'll be in touch with everything you need.

For therapists, by therapists.
